Established in 1975 - we have a rich history as an apostolic church in the West End/Heights community of Houston, TX.  The vision continues as we carry on the mission of our founder Elder Henry Chevalier and Overseer Arthur Stafford now under the leadership of our Pastor, Elder Byron Hayes, Sr. 

ODDC 's core foundation is based on the teaching of The Apostles - those who were:

• Eyewitnesses of Jesus Christ, his death, burial and resurrection

• Of the first generation to receive the understanding and experience of salvation by faith in the Life, Death, Resurrection and Eternal Name of Jesus Christ.

• Commissioned and Authorized by Jesus Christ for the preaching of THE GOSPEL

We joyfully serve God in the spirit of good-old fashion Holy-Ghost-filled worship. Our ultimate prayer is to touch and positively impact the lives of those within our reach and beyond via this website. It is our strong desire that all may have everlasting life Jesus Christ. We firmly believe that by putting God first in your Christian walk; one can soar to higher heights spiritually, providentially and supernaturally. Our foundation is based on the everlasting and eternal word of God by faith in Jesus Christ.

Our church name was chosen because the doors of the church are always open to you for encouragement, salvation, healing and deliverance. We are a small church with a mega heart and with nearly forty years of uplifting, magnifying, and praising the name of our Lord and Savior  - Jesus Christ.  Open Door is truly “A Church That’s Different To Make A Difference."
