Open Door Deliverance of Jesus Christ was founded in 1975 by the late Pastor: Elder Henry C. Chevalier. 

 

Pastor Chevalier, one who truly loved God's word and based his preaching around the death, baptism and resurrection of Christ, served as a pioneer/forerunner for the church. During his teachings, Chevalier many times included the phrases "shed for the remission of our sins," and "he who has an ear let them hear," referring to the blood and word of Christ. With compassion, dedication, knowledge and strong belief in his Savior, Chevalier guided Open Door through its early years.

 

In 1977, Elder Chevalier followed God's calling to evangelize and plant churches in Denison Texas/Oklahoma areas. 

Elder Arthur L. Stafford, Sr. co-pastored with Elder Chevalier from 1975-1977 and was appointed Lead Sr. Pastor in 1977. Pastor Stafford's calling and teaching was based on the Apostle's doctrine; thus the official name of the church became Open Door Deliverance Apostolic Church, Inc. 

 

Pastor Stafford -  referred to as "A Man of God with the Word of God" preached under the annointing of the Holy Ghost the unadulterated Word of God. While humble in spirit, he never backed down from God's true teachings.

Elder Stafford's ability to serve as a caring, humble, honest leader; yet have the ability to boldly exclaim and proclaim the word of God allowed Open Door and its members to flourish and excel in Christ. 

 

He served as the Lead Sr. Pastor for nearly four decades. In 2012, Pastor Stafford passed on the mantle of Lead Sr. Pastor to Associate Pastor, Elder Byron K. Hayes.  Pastor Stafford and his loving wife, Mother Laura Stafford became the Overseers of Open Door. Overseer Arthur Stafford and Mother Stafford, continue to serve as our esteemed and devoted overseers.

March 24, 2013, Pastor Byron Hayes was installed and ordained as the Lead Sr. Pastor of ODDC.  He has devoted himself to continue preaching the true doctrine of God and reaching out to the surrounding communities to heighten the vision and mission of ODDC.  He bases his teachings and leadership on the mentorship of those past leaders of ODDC, other strong Christian influences within his life and his strong faith and understanding of the Word of God. He is eager to take ODDC to new leaps and bounds and believes that God will expand the vision to include men/women of multi-cultural backgrounds and diverse races.

 

He has achieved multiple theological and divinity certifications and ordinations.  He is also certified as a theological mentor/counselor with accreditation from the NACM.
